The near future of the mustang is secure with the next generation
coming in 2012 but what about the more distant future? What will happen when we do run out of fossil fuels? What about Global
warming?
In the future, Ford will have no choice other then to convert the
Mustang into a hybrid/electric or even hydrogen vehicle. As the amount of fossil fuel continues to diminish, gas prices will
continue to grow until people have to drive vehicles fueled by alternate means. Hopefully by the time this happens, Ford
will have developed much more powerful versions of these cars to keep the muscle car alive.
From a science fiction standpoint:
As global warming worsens more and more ecoterrorists such as the
Earth Liberation Front(for more information on ELF please visit my ELF page) will surface. They will begin to commit worse
and worse acts of destroying gas guzzling vehicles and cause chaos. People may be minding their own business at stop lights
and be shot or have their cars blown up by these extreme environmentalists. People will be afraid to drive their vehicles
and police won't be able to stop the movement. The ecoterrorists will very hard to stop because they work in small cells or
act alone and there really is no way to pick them out. The world will fall into chaos unless the terrorists demands are met
and car manufacturers stop damaging the environment.
The Mustang as we know it will a thing of the past and only be seen
in museums. People will look at the combustion engine and laugh. To them our modern engines will be like how horse drawn chariots
are to us. In the future cars will most definitely
run on an alternate form of fuel and cars that run on fossil fuels will be obsolete. Who knows; maybe a future Mustang
will have the capability to fly.
Hopefully, a solution will be found for global warming before it
gets out of control. What happens if Global warming gets to a point that it can be reversed? What will people do if they find
out that there is a set amount of time before the apocalypse? Will people become more environmentally conscious about the cars they choose to help
slow down global warming?
