The Ford Mustang is one of the most well known cars world
wide. Since 1964 it has been one of the best selling cars and is even considered an American icon. Ford was building Mustangs
before the people of generation X were born. Despite that, the majority today’s Mustang buyers were born after the first
Mustang was produced in 1964. For these people, the Mustang has always been around. It’s always on tv, it really isn't
anything new, its just a constant in our every day lives. Obviously, since the first Mustang came out, the car has had multiple
facelifts and improvements to fit the times. It managed to make it through the added emissions standards which brought the
end to the muscle car era, it evolved to fit safety regulations, and even survived the fuel crisis. On the other hand, what
hasn’t changed is the basic premise of the car. Through the years it remained an affordable sports car that
is roomy enough for the family. Muscle cars such as the Mustang are notorious for being gas guzzlers. Despite taking
steps in the right direction, cars like the Mustang won't be able to survive in the future due to emissions regulations and
the decline of fossil fuels.
